monday january 3
Stolen vehicle recovered: Welch Avenue – A vehicle stolen from Welch Avenue last week was located in Longmont during a residential burglary. One of the suspects in the Longmont incident wore shoes that matched the footprints left in the snow during that multi-vehicle trespassing incident in Burgdorf. The vehicle was towed to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
Vehicle intrusion/theft: Welch Avenue – A man reported that his car was entered and the center console was searched. Two pairs of Oakley prescription glasses were taken and the sunglasses had lime green frames.
Motor vehicle accident: South Eighth Street and Winding Brook Drive – A southbound vehicle on South Eighth Street was struck by another vehicle that turned in front of it as it attempted to turn left into a parking lot. Both vehicles sustained severe damage.

Criminal Mischief: South County Road 21 – A resident reported that a 20-foot section of the property’s northern boundary fence was damaged by an unknown vehicle that veered off the road, drove through the fence and continued through their front enclosure and return to the county. Route 21 between noon January 3 and noon January 4.
Dead Unattended: Fourth Street – A welfare check was called for an elderly woman after no one saw or heard from her after several days. Entry was made and the female was found deceased.
Wednesday January 5
Warrant/driving under duress: United States Highway 287 – A traffic stop led to the arrest of a woman on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and cited for driving with a revoked license.
Maintenance of mental health: Berthoud – A young woman was suicidal and armed with a knife. The knife was forcibly removed and she was taken to hospital for mental health treatment.
Thursday, January 6
Third Degree Trespass/Attempted Theft/Criminal Mischief: Canyonlands Street and Crossbill Drive – A white double-duty pickup cut a chain on a fuel pump and attempted to steal diesel fuel from the tank at the construction site there. The suspect was unable to pump fuel due to low temperatures. Awaiting security camera footage for further identification.
Dead Unattended: Franklin Avenue – An elderly woman was found dead in her bathroom. Nothing suspicious and the coroner responded.
Motor vehicle accident: United States Highway 287 and Berthoud Parkway – A driver backed into another driver, puncturing that driver’s front bumper with his trailer hitch.
Motor vehicle accident with injuries: United States Highway 287 and West County Road 8 – A driver ran a red light and collided with another vehicle. The offending driver received a summons.
Threatening crime/harassment: United States Highway 287 and Highway 56 – A man reported heading north on U.S. Highway 287 when he nearly ran off the roadway by a van. At a red light on US Highway 287 and Highway 56, the driver of the van rolled down his window and held up a gun, and asked him if he wanted to die. The man continued north, followed by the driver of the van. Once at the intersection of Denver Avenue and Highway 34, the driver of the van got out of his vehicle to confront the man again. At that time, he was confronted by deputies and taken into custody, and incarcerated in the Larimer County Jail.
Fraud: East Highway 56 – A business notified deputies of a suspect who hacked into their store’s rewards points system and used stolen points to make purchases of $35,454.00 at their store. At this time, the suspect is unknown.
friday 7 january
Warrant x3/Tampering with Physical Evidence/Obstruction/Criminal Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance/Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance: West County Road 10E (Berthoud Reservoir) – A woman was contacted at Berthoud Reservoir Park for a warrant. She had a small chest on her and the key on a necklace. Before the deputies could remove the key, she ripped the collar off the back of the patrol car and hid the key to the safe. Deputies were able to enter the box, which revealed 1.7 grams of oxycontin, 2.76 grams of fentanyl and 9 LSD tablets. A man was also contacted and arrested on warrants.
Motor vehicle accident: Nebraska Avenue and South Fifth Street – A vehicle was traveling southbound on Fifth Street at Nebraska Avenue. The streets were filled with snow and ice from a recent snowstorm. The driver applied the brakes and lost control of the vehicle, sliding into the back of an unoccupied vehicle.
Identity theft: Kansas Avenue – A man reported that an unknown suspect attempted to open a bank account in his name.

Check Fraud: East Nebraska Avenue – A resident reports that a check was taken out of her mailbox, altered, and attempted to be cashed at a business in Lakewood, Colorado.
